The more educated we are, the better enabled we can become, when choosing the foods we eat. This section of my blog, is purely nutritional. It is here to help those that are looking to loose weight and for those who just want to lead a healthier lifestyle.
Maintaining an overall healthy diet not only affords your body the energy and nutrients that it needs to function, but offers health benefits as well. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and fat-free or low-fat milk and milk products contribute to cardiovascular health. A good diet incorporates lean meats, poultry, fish, beans, eggs, and nuts as well. It should be limited in saturated fats, trans fat, cholesterol, salt (sodium), and added sugars.
To lose weight, it's important to make lifestyle changes with a focus on reducing calories from food and beverages, following a healthy eating plan, and of course, portion control. Which is the principal component in achieving your target weight.
Dietary modification, the addition of more physical activity... yes exercise!, in moderation of course and, portion control, are the key elements to healthy weight loss, and a healthy lifestyle.
